Jeff and Christi Broady bought the property in 2002 from realtor Roy Wilson, whose graduation ceremony was coincidentally in the gym. Back then, it cost them $85,000. After Wilson listed the newly renovated property, he received an offer within three days.
Symone reflects on the epic year she's had since winning "RuPaul's Drag Race":
The home is a 3.6-acre property in Wilkinson, where it was once a hardware store. Before that, it was a gym connected to two classrooms built in 1902 and 1922 that made up the now-defunct Wilkinson High School.
The home is large, and each room is spacious. Much of it still has the old hardwood floors with the basketball free throw lane markings remaining. It has a total of four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a massive kitchen.
“I graduated from that building, and I can tell you where I was sitting during graduation,” Wilson told USA Today. “The gym floor is still there … That end of the floor is where I sat, just about the free throw line, to the right of the basket.”
The novelty of the home made it quite popular on the market. Wilson listed the home on June 30. Within three days, the property had 20 showings and four offers. The house sold for “at least the asking price,” according to Wilson, who isn’t disclosing the real number.
