Couple Revamp Old Concrete Stoop With Simple DIY Makeover

We have all heard of the popular saying “concrete lasts forever” and while yes it's true, it never breaks down, it definitely does show its age. Old concrete can get discolored, and we have seen some pretty genius ways to clean and stain it. The smooth surface can rub down, leaving rough rocks exposed that feel just as bad as they look, which we have found genius ways to fix it through resurfacing. And it can crack.

Worn down, chipped and cracking concrete is fine, up until it happens on a main focal point of your home, such as your front patio, porch or stoop. This is exactly what happened to one couple's front stoop but they thought up a brilliant method for fixing it and making it look brand new. With little work involved and hardly any money spent, we are left super impressed, check it out below!

There are many advantages of concrete over other building materials like wood. It is durable, easy to work with, not insanely costly, and it lasts nearly forever.

Even though concrete lasts forever it doesn’t look good forever and often the surface finish washes away leaving the bumpy grit below it. Just as what happened to this couple's stoop, but their simple DIY fixed it right up!

They started off by scrubbing it and giving it a real good clean using Dawn dish soap and a powered scrubber pole. They fixed the broken edges and hole in the center with a concrete patch, and then mixed it down thinner and spread a layer over the entire stoop, grinding it into the existing concrete to create a strong bond.

This simple overlay made it look brand new and cost hardly anything to do!
