Couple Installs Brick Panel as Cheap Kitchen Backsplash and It Looks Stunning

If you've been wanting to update your kitchen backsplash but have been stuck with your tight budget, don't you worry. This is still very possible for you! This project ended up being so popular that over 80,000 users requested the details so you know it's going to be a good one.

Instagram creator Sarah (@sarah_elizabeth_pgh) shares her incredible home renovation projects and is totally dedicated to the small budget home makeover community. You don't need a ton of money to make your house look like a ton of money! And this backsplash video is 100% proof.

Typically, kitchen backsplashes are made from a couple different materials, including ceramic tile, porcelain tile, glass or marble tile, or even brick! Obviously these choices are not the most affordable for everyone so what are we supposed to do if we have a smaller budget but still want our kitchens to look farmhouse chic?

The answer is: cardboard. And yes, it still looks incredible. It just needs some dressing up first!

Instead of tearing out their current backsplash and replacing it with the expensive process of installing brick, Sarah and her husband decided to simple use a panel of cardboard and dress it to the nines in a faux brick aesthetic. Sarah currently is emailing out free PDFs for the details for anyone who messages her, but basically you can purchase thin faux brick veneers and secure them to a piece of cardboard! To get that realistic look, Sarah added some grout in between the pieces and even sanded them down, just like real brick.

This process totally worked and once they had cut down the paneling and installed it onto their backsplash, you could not even tell it wasn't really brick.

They totally fooled us!

This is a perfect option for any homeowner or renter who wants to update their kitchen space but doesn't want to commit or can't afford to commit to the full brick aesthetic. You can get it for so much cheaper this way.
