Most wedded couples to-be make a fairly traditional beeline from one wedding milestone to the next. Register at Pottery Barn, hire established wedding planner, serve hors d'oeuvres during a spirited cocktail hour before chicken or fish, end the night with a three-tier wedding cake. However, Allie Nichols and Colin Parajon opted for a more, shall we say, avant-garde affair. Allie and Colin had an Oscar Meyer Hot Dog Wedding.

Making it an even more modern affair, Oscar Meyer relished in sponsoring the nuptials. Fancy wedding planner? Not for these two-decisions for their big day were made, in part, via Buzzfeed Quiz. Truly, after news broke that Oscar Meyer would be playing a major part in these hot dog enthusiasts' June 20 wedding, Buzzfeed got involved. They asked about everything from cake toppers to welcome signs, all decked out in hot dog fanfare. Plus, the site was there to capture the Parajon’s wiener of a wedding on Instagram.

The actual day was a must(ard)-see. Ketchup and mustard spouted from fondue fountains. (Pigs in a blanket replaced fruit, if you’re curious.) Some men wore ties with tiny hot dogs on them alongside a bratwurst pin on their lapels and all the groomsmen wore hot dog-printed socks. The Wienermobile even showed up, because of course it did.

Allie and Colin can be seen atop their cake with the bride holding, what else, a hot dog. All in all, it was a bratwurst-worthy event, and actually wasn’t as odd as it totally had the potential to be. But if the couple’s first born isn’t named Oscar, it would be a MAJOR missed opportunity.
