Country star Josh Turner’s tour bus was involved in a fatal accident in California on Wednesday night, according to NBC News.

Members of Josh’s road crew were on the vehicle, but neither Josh nor his band were present at the time of the crash. Local NBC affiliate KSBY reported that the bus launched off an embankment. Two passengers were reportedly ejected, and one person has died. Seven more were injured, two of whom are suffering major injuries.

The San Luis Obispo County Fire Department shared more information from the site. “Confirmed Tour Bus of the Josh Turner Road Crew was involved in this accident,” the organization said in a Tweet. “Mr. Josh Turner and band were in different buses and not injured. #CHP and #Firefighters will be at scene several hours for investigation and clean up.”

According to NBC, drugs or alcohol have both been ruled out as possible causes for the crash, but they are looking into any medical issues that may have been a factor. The driver’s age is unknown.

The group was traveling to Yakima, Washington, where Josh, 41, was scheduled to perform on Friday. The “Your Man” singer has yet to make any public statements about the devastating incident. Fox News and USA Today have both reached out for comment.

Our thoughts are with Josh, his band, and all those affected.
