Country Star Carly Pearce Gave Us a Peek Inside Her Kitchen—and Shared Her Go-To Smoothie Recipe

“Even when I’m on the road, cooking is a big part of what I do and what I love,” says country music star Carly Pearce.

The new mom of Shih Tzu pup June has had plenty of time to flex her cooking chops during her time at home.

“During the quarantine it’s been nice to get back in the kitchen and not have one that’s rolling around on a bus with five guys,” Pearce says of being on tour with her band.

Pearce showed us around her hardworking, fuss-free kitchen, which includes an impressive collection of wine glasses (including one that we absolutely must buy ASAP) and a few junk drawers that shall remain closed to our prying eyes. “They’re horrific,” she jokes.

Watch the video above for the whole tour, and check out highlights below.

Aside from the junk drawers (don’t we all have them?), Pearce likes to keep her space simple and clutter-free. “I don’t like a lot of stuff, so I keep just the minimal amount of things that you need in a kitchen,” she says.

In the same vein, Pearce’s go-to meals are quick, easy, and healthy. Her Crockpot is a countertop constant for cooking flavorful shredded chicken to add to sandwiches, salads, and wraps, and her Cuisinart food processor is clutch for whipping up homemade hummus and chopping veggies on the hop.

One meal must-have for Pearce is a protein-rich smoothie she blends up every afternoon (she has both a Ninja and Magic Bullet blender that she loves). Keep scrolling to see one of her favorite smoothie recipes, below.

Another staple for the singer? “I love to run … and Vital Proteins have really helped with making my joints strong.” She adds a scoop of the collagen supplement to her coffee each morning.

Finally, Pearce shares her wine glass collection and one particular glass that puts all other vino vessels to shame: the Big Mouth Toys Wine Bottle Glass ($10,bethbathandbeyond.com), which can—you guessed it—fit an entire bottle of wine inside. Carly, we want to have happy hour with you! But first, let’s get to the good-for-you stuff—her Banana-Spinach Smoothie recipe:
