Country Star Announces Pregnancy at the ACM Awards

Renee Blair was celebrating more than just country music at Thursday night's ACM Award show, as the "Get the Girl" songstress also had some exciting news to share about her little growing family.

While taking the red carpet at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco Texas for the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards, Blair, 31, put her baby bump on display in a body-hugging black dress to publicly announce that she is currently pregnant with her first child.

Blair also confirmed the news while chatting with PEOPLE, revealing that she and her husband Jordan Schmidt are expecting a bouncing baby boy.

The expectant parents—who only got married in Nashville last year—didn't exactly plan to get pregnant so soon, but they are still filled with excitement over their baby on the way, nonetheless.

"If I've learned anything about life thus far, it's to expect the unexpected!" the country singer said. "We got married and got pregnant all in what seemed like the same breath."

"I was originally hoping to get pregnant right now actually, in May 2023, on our honeymoon in Italy—which has now been postponed for two wonderful reasons: the pregnancy and because Mom and Dad are nominated for ACM song of the year for co-writing HARDY's 'Wait in the Truck,'" the soon-to-be mama gushed.

Blair went on to express her pride over the nomination alongside her husband who works as a music producer, stating, "I'm excited to be nominated for my first ACM alongside my husband, and also showing our son one day that we were thriving and living at an all-time high while he was growing in my belly!"

Schmidt, 35, also chimed in to say, "I'm so excited to share this moment with my wife and our unborn child, and I can't wait for the day we show him pictures of how he was at the 58th ACMs!"
