  • Chase Rice is coming under fire for hosting a concert in Tennessee last weekend.

  • At the concert, no one had masks on or practiced social distancing even though we're in the midst of a pandemic.

Despite the fact that a huge number of Americans across the country are still catching coronavirus, some people lucky enough to not be infected are ignoring precautions and trying to go back to "normal"...so much so that country singer Chase Rice (aka Victoria Fuller's ex-boyfriend) was somehow able to host the first night of his summer tour. Yes, you read that correctly.

On Saturday, Chase held a packed concert in Petros, Tennessee at the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary (which used to be a jail before being turned into a concert venue, FYI). Mind you, this concert comes one (1) whole day after Tennessee reported its highest single-day increase in coronavirus cases thus far. Chase didn't seem to have that on his mind though, because during the concert, he bewilderingly posted a video to his Instagram stories of him and his not-socially-distanced fans with no masks on.

Given how irresponsible hosting a concert is in times like these, country singer Kelsea Ballerini expressed her disappointment and condemned Chase's actions on Twitter.

“Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now,” she wrote on Twitter. “We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait.”

According to TMZ, the venue had a max capacity of 4,000, but less than 1,000 people showed up for the concert. In addition to reducing the capacity, the venue claims "all guests were given temperature checks prior to entering the venue and free hand sanitizer was provided to everyone at entry. All vendors and staff were advised to wear masks and gloves when interacting with guests, and bandanas were available for purchase on-site."

Chase has yet to issue any comment about his decision to hold the concert—surprise, surprise.
