Country Singer Chase Rice Found Himself in the Middle of Some Major 'Bachelor' Drama

From Country Living

  • Country star Chase Rice is at the center of some Bachelor drama.

  • Here's what to know about the Victoria F./Peter Weber/Chase triangle, including his reaction to being set up by producers.

There are few occasions when two very different worlds collide, and tonight’s episode of The Bachelor happens to be one of them.

The ABC dating show rarely crosses paths with the country music world. When it does, it’s usually a private concert with a painfully long slow dance and not much drama to speak of. But that’s all about to change.

Victoria Fuller, a contestant on Peter Weber’s current season, apparently used to date singer Chase Rice. That wouldn’t be a huge deal (I mean, we’re jealous but…) except for the fact that Chase happens to be performing for Peter and Victoria on their upcoming one-on-one. And neither Peter, Victoria, or Chase knew it was happening.

Though it’s unclear what will go down between Peter and Victoria, Chase isn't taking the whole thing too seriously. He admitted that he knew Victoria was a cast member, but producers did not inform him that she’d be on that particular outing.

“I didn’t think they would do that to me, to be honest with you,” he told Taste of Country. “I was p***ed at first, and then I was like, I gotta figure out a way to turn this positive for myself, mainly because I had no desire to be a part of any reality TV show.”

We feel you, Chase! But regardless, he's been thrust into the spotlight, so lets take a few minutes to learn more about the 34-year-old who’s definitely here for the right reasons (to promote his new record, obviously).

What are some of Chase Rice’s most popular songs?

He’s got a ton, but you’ll want to listen to “Eyes on You,” “Ready Set Roll,” and “Lonely If You Are.”

He’s a proud uncle.

If you were crushing on Chase, this will only make it worse. He posts photos all the time with his niece and nephew, and they will 100% melt your heart.

He’s got a lot of famous friends.

Chase doesn’t need The Bachelor to improve his Insta clout. He’s hung out with Cole Swindell, Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, and even Ed Sheeran in recent months.

No, he didn’t write his new album for Victoria.

The timing is pretty suspicious, but Chase confirmed the hits on his latest release, The Album Part I, were inspired by an old flame who isn't Victoria. However, there is a Bachelor reference in one of the verses of "Lonely If You Are."

“I didn’t write that to get on the show. I just thought it was a cool picture,” he said. “My ex-girlfriend, who a lot of these songs are about, loved The Bachelor and watched it religiously.”

Okay, okay just tell me: Is he single?

Yep! But don’t expect him to sign up with ABC any time soon. When Taste of Country asked if he’d be the Bachelor he said, “Not a chance.”
