Hank Williams Jr. and Alan Jackson are still some of the biggest names in the country game, and have influenced so many young artists over the years. Anyone who listens to their music can gather that they have similar interests: partying, hunting, fishing, hangin' out and, of course, making music, so it would only make sense for them to be buds.

After Jackson appeared in Williams' music video for "I Ain't Going Peacefully" in the '90s, fans have always wondered if the two are friends in real life. You see, the song was a little controversial because it literally calls out Jackson, Garth Brooks and Clint Black for trying to put Williams "in the shade." But it seems like there was really no shade at all.

At the time the video was released, Williams told Country Weekly, "It was just as natural as fishing with my best friend – because Alan Jackson's one of them." Jackson and his band also visited Williams' Montana ranch in '93, hinting toward their close relationship.

But that's not all. In 1999, Jackson put together an album of covers from artists he admired, called Under the Influence. Jackson recorded a cover of Williams' "Blues Man," which he eventually released as a single. Over the years the pair has performed the song as a duet several times.

Jackson even honored Williams at his long overdue Country Music Hall of Fame induction in 2020 with a performance of "Blues Man."

And as recently as last month, Jackson showed his loyalty to the Williams family, paying tribute to Hank Williams Sr. on what would have been his 100th birthday, singing "Your Cheatin' Heart."

It's clear that after all these years, the two have a lot of respect for one another.
