Country powerhouse Chapel Hart, featuring sisters Danica and Devynn Hart, and first cousin Trea Swindle, just released an upbeat, take-no-prisoners tune from their upcoming album Glory Days. The track, "Welcome to Fist City," makes good on the band's promise to Loretta Lynn, who requested the trio take on one of her songs just months before her death.

It all started last summer when the band took America's Got Talent by storm with their golden buzzer performance of “You Can Have Him Jolene,” a twist on the iconic Dolly Parton song. Dolly loved it—and she wasn't the only legend who was watching. That night, Loretta Lynn posted on Facebook, "I love it, ladies. Now I'm wondering what you might be able to do with one of my songs!"

Shortly after Loretta's death in October, Chapel Hart announced they would remake "Fist City" in her honor. And now it's here! Take a listen.

"You should have listened to miss Loretta," Danica croons in the opening line of the new track before the instrumentals kick in. Then we learn that the would-be temptress from Loretta's classic song has been up to no good again, nosing around other women's men. And she's earned a trip back to Fist City, where Danica, Devynn, and Trea are the sheriff, mayor, and judge.

The song is light-hearted, upbeat, and fresh with clever nods to the original (Loretta's line "I'll grab you by the hair of the head / And I'll lift off of the ground" is echoed in Chapel Hart's warning, "Hold onto your wig / And hold onto your britches"). Not to mention, the band accompanying the harmonizing trio is great—especially the fiddle.

“‘Welcome to Fist City’ feels like 1968 revamped to right now,” Danica said in a press release. “I really believe Ms. Loretta would’ve been so proud! I’d like to believe the generation who laid the foundation just wants to know that they are leaving country music in capable hands, and my prayer is that we are doing just that. I hope we are making them proud!”

Fans, who love that Chapel Hart stays true to their country roots, would tend to agree. “Yee Haw!" commented one fan on Facebook. "You ladies have done it again. There's no stopping you and no doubt of your talent." Another chimed in, "I bet Mrs Loretta is tapping her feet and smiling down on ya. Love that you are keeping it country."

Here are a few more of our favorite reactions from Facebook and Instagram:
