Update, January 8, 2021: Believe it or not, it's almost Valentine's Day again. That means stores all over are prepping for the holiday with every heart-shaped treat you can think of, and Costco is no exception. The warehouse chain's heart-shaped macarons are back in stores, so stock up while you can.

The Instagram account @costcosisters spotted the 25-pack of macarons by the brand Le Chic Patissier at a Costco in California. Fittingly, they're vanilla and raspberry-flavored. "Using 100 percent natural ingredients, we source high-quality vanilla from Madagascar and fresh seasonal fruits for the puree," the description on the back of the box reads. Each box costs under $13, which quite the deal for how many macarons it includes.

Whether you're shopping for a significant other or for yourself this Valentine's Day, you can never go wrong with macarons—especially if they're in the shape of a heart. If you want to really go all out, the Costco-obsessed Instagram account suggests decorating a plain white cake with the macarons. That sounds like a solid dessert combo to me!

Original post, February 5, 2019: If you're planning to go all out for Valentine's—like themed cheese wheels, ravioli, and red velvet cake kind of "all out"—then you need to pick up a box of Costco's Le Chic Pâtissier Macarons. The discount supermarket's latest February find is just one amongst the sea of heart-shaped products currently on sale for V-day. And while an iconic brand like Ladurée might seem like the more traditional choice for your seasonal sugar fix, Costco's take on the trend is so much cheaper.

In a post published to the Costco Insider Instagram account, the strawberry-vanilla and raspberry french treats were advertised in a box of 25 for $12.49. If you think that sounds like a good deal, just wait until you hear how much their competitor's are going for. Ladurée is selling 24 of their own heart-shaped sweets for a whopping $73. So, what exactly is causing the price differential? Is it the name recognition alone? They can't possibly taste $60.51-worth better, right? "Impress your significant other with these," the caption began, alongside a photo of the packaged pink and white macarons.

According to Le Chic Pâtissier's website, the brand behind the insanely inexpensive—but as equally enticing—macarons is dedicating to making everything "with only the finest ingredients." They're also not only in the heart-shaped macaron business. Their French specialty products include brioches, crêpes, cakes, choux, pastries, and frozen desserts.

In January, the internet went wild over another one of Costco's best-selling heart-shaped foods, their Nuova Pasta Ravioli. Looks your entire Valentine's Day dinner can serve as a very literal representation of your love.
