Like a good set of knives, the right cutting board can solve a myriad of culinary problems. Sure, you could slice and dice directly on your precious marble countertops, but why not preserve the beauty of your kitchen (and knives) by using all of the tools available at your disposal?

Samurai-grade chef’s knife aside, nothing does more leg work in the kitchen than your trusty chopping block. And thankfully, there are plenty of options to choose from. While a moderately sized board is usually enough for the day-to-day, sometimes, you need something more robust to break down the Thanksgiving turkey.

Priced at just $14.99, the J.A. Henckels International 3-piece Cutting Board Set is available in two different color options and each board is made of durable plastic that can stand up to everyday use. Regardless if you prefer the crisp white boards with tricolor borders or the muted look of dark grey, these chopping blocks can easily blend in with your chosen culinary aesthetic. Other notable features include an ergonomic handle, non-slip grips on one side, and the set is billed as non-porous, non-absorbent and non-stick.

Thanks Laura of @costcohotfinds, we were able to get a glimpse at the board set, and the comments section under her post was filled with hot takes. “Plastic? No,” definitively said one person. “Don’t get the white ones,” warned another. Although there were countless naysayers, a few users expressed their genuine love of the chopping blocks, with one saying, “I’m shocked by all the negative comments! I have these and love them.”

If you happen to be worried about “stains” or “warping” it might be best to spring for a wooden option instead and the XL Gourmet Holiday Cutting Board is the perfect option to gift (or keep for yourself).
