Costco’s New Red Velvet Bar Cake Is Layered With Cream Cheese Mousse and Brownie Chunks
We hate to break it to you, but no matter how great of a baker you are, it’s going to be nearly impossible to beat a new treat that has hit Costco. The wholesale retailer’s in-house brand Kirkland Signature now has a Red Velvet Bar Cake that boasts more layers than we know what do with.
The Valentine’s Day-inspired cake, which was spotted by The Krazy Koupon Lady, consists of two layers of red velvet sponge cake with a layer of cream cheese mousse filling that’s mixed with dark chocolate brownie pieces in the middle. It’s complete with cream cheese frosting, semi-sweet chocolate hearts, and chocolate-coated crispy pearls. Just to make sure you caught that, the brownie pieces are mixed into the cream cheese mousse. How could it get any better?!

This is quite the extravagant dessert for just $15.99. Plus, it weighs over 2 pounds, so there will be plenty left over after you and your valentine dive in. An ad in the Costco Connection, the store’s magazine, indicates that the Red Velvet Bar Cake is available from Feb. 1 to 29. So consider this your excuse to treat yourself for Valentine’s Day all month long!
Some people have already tried the cake, and the reviews are just as good as we hoped. Under Instagram account @costcobuy’s picture, people raved about the red velvet creation. “I eat a lot of cake but this is one of the best cake I have ever eaten,” one person wrote. “Tastes amazing. Had it last night,” wrote another.
To be honest, we were sold on this cake when we saw the word “brownies,” but the fact that people are going crazy over it reaffirms that we will be making a stop at Costco after work today!
