Costco is continuing to expand into healthcare with the announcement that they'll now offer weight loss management through Sesame, a healthcare marketplace. The program will include Ozempic, Wegovy, and other prescription drugs.

If the name Sesame sounds familiar, that's because the warehouse partnered with them last year to offer primary care visits, virtual mental health therapy, lab panels, and more to customers for a discounted price.

Costco's new partnership with Sesame, which was confirmed by USA Today, was reportedly in the works just two months after their primary care program launched.

With your Costco membership, you can now get a three-month subscription to Sesame's weight loss management program for the discounted rate of $179 (or $60 per month). The subscription gets you expert clinical care from weight loss specialists, weight loss prescriptions, and ongoing support via unlimited messaging.

The popular weight loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy are among the prescriptions available to members if they're deemed appropriate by a designated clinician. The cost of any medications is not included in the $179 three-month plan.

Additionally, for those interested in weight loss management with Sesame who don't have a Costco membership, you can still sign up, but you won't receive a discounted subscription.

According to David Goldhill, Sesame‘s co-founder and CEO, the new weight loss management offering was the direct result of demand from customers.

“We are witnessing important innovations in medically supervised weight loss,” Goldhill shared with USA Today. “Sesame’s unique model allows us not only to make high-quality specialty care like weight loss much more accessible and affordable but also to empower clinicians to create care plans that are specific to—and appropriate for—each individual patient.”
