Costco Just Replaced Their Famous Food Court Churros With a New Sweet Treat & Fans Are Divided

No trip to Costco is complete without a trip to the food court. It’s a time-honored tradition and everyone has their favorite menu items. For some, it’s the pizza, while others prefer the chicken bake or a classic hotdog. There is no denying Costco shoppers go hard for their food court favorites so changing up the menu can definitely ruffle some feathers.

Sometimes the menu changes make sense but sometimes, crowd favorites get the axe leaving everyone wondering what in the world upper management could possibly be thinking. Perfect example? Costco’s latest food court menu decision. Costco just pulled one of the most popular menu items, a menu item that consistently ranks at the top of “Best Costco Food Court Items” lists, and replaced it with a cookie.

Goodbye churros and hello giant double chocolate chunk cookies.

Coming in at a whopping 750 calories, Costco’s new Double Chocolate Chunk cookie might be a cookie lover’s dream come true, but many churro fans are not thrilled with the switch.

“This is wack! You can buy chocolate chip cookies anywhere, but churros are harder to find. Buh bye Costco hello Sam’s club,” wrote one disgruntled shopper.

“Buy a pack of cookies in the bakery and eat up front…$2.50 for one cookie is outrageous, and they look bad to boot,” wrote another commenter.

Others were a little more ambivalent.

“The churro sucked anyway… ever since they changed the recipe many years ago and made it twisted. It wasn’t like the authentic churros anymore, just twisted bread with cinnamon and sugar,” wrote one anti-churro campaigner.

“Churro slowly died. In the end, the Churro was hard as a rock with caked on tons of sugar. RIP,” wrote another.

And while the churro fans are voicing their disappointment, others took the opportunity to campaign for the return of their long-lost favorites of years past.

“Bring back the Polish hot dog!!! I haven’t eaten at the food court since it was discontinued😤😤😤,” wrote one Polish dog enthusiast. “Like this message if you agree so Corporate can see how many people want it back!”

“They need to bring back to combo slice! They can dump this cookie,” commented a nostalgic pizza fan.

The changing menu may leave some churro fans scratching their heads, but that’s just how the cookie crumbles. One thing is for sure, though — if they ever get rid of the hot dog, expect riots.
