Costco’s Gorgeous $16 Plant Find Is Here, Just In Time for Spring
It’s not officially spring unless you have a lavender plant in your home or yard, and Costco is here to make that happen (on a budget!).
Costco has potted lavender plants for only $16 right now, and you definitely need at least three to fill your home with its lovely fragrance. An Instagram Reel by @costco.so.obsessed shows multiple shelves of the Spanish lavender plants next to orchids, lemon trees, and succulents.
In the comments section, someone says that the lavender plants are “hard to keep alive,” especially for those without a green thumb, but don’t let that scare you from owning one of these aromatic plants.
According to the Old Farmers Almanac, the plants are fairly easy to maintain as long as they have an abundance of sunlight and well-drained soil. If you place these outside, expect to see more butterflies and bees around, as Spanish lavender is quite popular among pollinators.
If you decide to harvest your lavender, you’ll quickly realize that there are so many uses for the herb. Keep a jar of fresh lavender in your kitchen to add to flavored coffee syrups, tea, or baked goods. Take a DIY project to the next level and add dried lavender to a body wash or candle, or you could hand make a lavender sachet. There are a lot of possibilities with this lavender plant.
Even though the $16 potted lavender plant is an exclusive in-store deal, Costco sells a four-pack of lavender plants for $70, so that’s about $17.50 per plant. If you and your green thumb are ready to commit to growing these, prepare yourself for a lot of lavender (and hopefully tons of lavender-flavored ice cream this summer!).
