It's long been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A good breakfast can take just 10 minutes to make if you have all the ingredients in the house—and you’re okay with dirtying the dishes, pans, or blender. A good breakfast can also take 10 minutes or less if you buy it pre-made and frozen, then heat it in your microwave.

That’s the choice of many busy people who want breakfast quickly but don’t want to run through the drive-thru on the way to work. Costco shoppers are pros at finding the best breakfast items to stock up on to make their mornings less hectic and their kitchens less messy.

Sometimes, Cosco has copycat versions of breakfast items you could grab on the go from Starbucks, such as the frozen La Boulangerie Smoked Ham and Swiss Croissants and the Kirkland Signature Breakfast Sandwiches. The beauty of the copycat versions is that they’re quicker to make at home than to stop at the coffee shop, and they’re much less expensive.

Now Costco has added a new frozen breakfast choice, and it's not a copycat—it's the real deal.

Costco Now Has Starbucks Egg Bites in New Egg White & Roasted Red Pepper Flavor

Starbucks Sous Vide Egg Bites are some of the chain’s most popular menu items. Made with real eggs, people love them because they’re high in protein, low in carbs, and tasty. They also cost about $5.25 per serving, which is two egg bites.

Recently, the warehouse store started carrying the Sous Vide Egg White & Roasted Red Pepper Egg Bites by Starbucks, and our senior editor, Devon O’Brien has been stocking up on all the egg bite varieties at her local Costco.

“I've been buying egg bites from Costco for years,” she says. “The original flavor—Bacon & Gruyere—is always stocked in my fridge or freezer. We buy four boxes at a time to stash away in the freezer and thaw one box in the fridge at a time so there's always a quick and easy breakfast option on hand that's ready in just two minutes.”

“The texture of Starbucks' egg bites has always been superior in my opinion and the convenience of being able to have these at home (for a fraction of the cost might I mention!) vs having to drive the 30 minutes to my closest Starbucks can't be beat!”

Now, she’s excited to have an alternative flavor to buy from Costco to mix things up.

On Instagram, Costcobuys posted about their excitement when they spotted the Starbucks Sous Vide Egg White and Roasted Red Pepper Egg Bites in the store’s freezer section. The post shows the Costco price—$14.97 for 5 servings (two egg bites per serving). That comes to $2.95 a serving vs the $5.25 at Starbucks where you’ll have to wait in line, pay tax, and leave a tip.

And, as one of Costcobuys' followers said about the frozen egg bites, “Amazing!!! Taste exactly the same.”

The Costco-bought Starbucks egg bites make perfect sense. They taste the same and save you time and money.

However, if you don’t want to go to Starbucks and you don’t have a Costco membership, there’s a third alternative. Make your own copycat egg bites that you can keep in the freezer and pull out whenever you need breakfast or a snack in a hurry.
