Costco has a long history of discontinuing food court items, replacing them with new offerings, and inevitably bringing back some of its most popular discontinued items, such as those sought-after hot dog onions and the beloved fruit smoothie with strawberries, blackberries, and acai.

Costco may be returning another food-court favorite to the menu, but surprisingly, fans have had mixed reactions to the news.

The Twisted Churro Was Spotted in Costco's Food Court

Last December, news started circulating that Costco was removing its beloved sweet treat, the $1.49 twisted churro, from its food court and replacing it with a giant chocolate chip cookie. Fans were not pleased, with many saying how this was “going to really suck for our Costco shopping routine.”

The twisted churro has been a staple in Costco’s food court for many years, so it makes sense why so many were sad to see it go. However, some internet chatter has revealed this item might be making a comeback, and interestingly enough, not too many seem excited about it.

On a recent Reddit thread, one user posted a photo of Costco’s food court with the caption: “Food Court: RIP Cookie, but Churros are back.” People were quick to respond with annoyance about the constant switching of items.

“They keep playing musical chairs with food court offerings,” said one user. Someone else added, “It better not be!! I haven’t even had the cookies yet.”

Even though there was a lot of controversy over the giant cookie (with one solid hack everyone was trying), those who have tried it had some interesting things to say, like “Cookie is way better than the churros” and “I'd rather have the cookie.”

Another Redditor added, “I was sad about the churro leaving but also liked the cookie. This is too much of an emotional roller coaster for me.”

The original poster said they spotted the twisted churros in a Norwalk, California, Costco. We are unsure if the churros have popped up in other Costco locations, but we’re positive this won’t be the last we hear of them.
