Are you one of those people who has a track record of drowning your plants? Too much water can cause many plants’ roots to rot and leaves to yellow and drop, and that’s a recipe for disaster. If you know this all too well, there’s good news: Costco has a new plant right now that is literally un-drownable — and that’s because it’s already “planted” in a bowl of water. It requires minimal care but it’s totally real, and this may just be the best alternative to potted plants for over-waterers ever.

Located at a Southern California Costco, there are a few different varieties of these water culture plants available from Ctenanthe to Anthurium, which sprouts beautiful tropical red blooms, and Strelitzia. The leaves of the plants are propped up in the center of a vase via a wooden top with a hole in the middle of it, and all you have to do is refill the vase when the plants’ roots are no longer submerged in the water.

According to the person who posted photos of these plants on Costco Reddit, they’re going for $25.99 each.

“As a seasoned plant killer, this is perfect for me,” one Costco shopper on Reddit commented on the above post. Another said, “Holy crap, a plant I might be able to keep alive!”

“Got one in socal! Been in my room for about 2 weeks now. Definitely recommend!” another Redditor added.

And someone else wrote, “Believe it or not, most plants can live without soil. You just take trimmings and put them in a clear glass container with water.”

And it’s true! If you want to try to create and grow your own hydroponic houseplant, you can simply take a cutting from an existing potted plant and place it in water. Pothos varieties do particularly well with this method, but spider plants, ivies, and even lilies do really well when rooted in water. Then, just place your plant in an indirectly sunny spot, and watch it grow.

But for those starting fresh, these water culture plants at Costco are the perfect plants to help you break that brown-thumb curse. And if you don’t see this plant at your local Costco, you can order a hydroponic propagation station on Amazon for $19.99.
