Cosmic Flair: Home Decor Inspired by Prince’s Paisley Park

Prince’s ashes are now contained in an urn in the shape of Paisley Park, his infamous Minnesota residence and creative center. He lived there for more than 30 years, writing, producing, and entertaining. Until recently, the public had only a vague idea of what might be inside, as the musician forbade any visitors from photographing it. In André Leon Talley’s 1992 Vogue story on Prince, he wrote that the exterior of Paisley Park “could be mistaken for a software factory in an industrial park.” Inside, a pair of white doves sat cooing in a cage.

Now, more has been revealed, and those who wish to pay their respects to the artist can do so (sans phones) when they buy tickets in advance. When Vogue toured the complex last year, it was adorned with oversized purple velvet chairs, celestial carpeting, and flowers. Particularly as we move away from minimalism, most homes could use a magical touch or two inspired by the otherworldly artist.
