How to copy Daisy Ridley's 'Star Wars' hair buns — no Jedi mind tricks involved

Everything Star Wars-related has infiltrated our lives (yet again) with the release of The Last Jedi. The latest installment in the Skywalker series has Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey — a woman character who is smart, savvy, and certainly doesn’t need anyone man’s help to save her. Plus, she’s rocking some badass hair buns to complement her tough spirit.

The force was definitely with New York City-based hairstylist Zeta Korqa for Glamsquad because she copied Rey’s hair buns to a tee for our newest #CopyThat tutorial. Watch the video above to learn how she mastered this movie hair look and read below for all the instructions and product recommendations.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Use a rat-tail comb to separate hair into three sections from top to bottom. Clip into place with alligator clips.

2. Smooth strands with a boar bristle brush.

3. Gather into individual ponytails. Pro tip: Spritz with Kérastase Laque Couture Anti-Frizz Hairspray and roll bottle onto head to tame flyaways.

4. Twist each pony into a knot and secure with bobby pins.

5. Apply a quarter-size amount of Baxter of California Hard Cream Pomade and brush into hair.

6. Set style with holding spray.

Makeup details: Makeup artist Sade Hazard for Glamsquad applied NARS Copacabana Illuminator onto skin to achieve a warm, peachy glow with a hint of shimmer. To complete the look, she swiped on a pale pink lipstick. Try: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Sugarcane.
