Coors Light Launches Beer-Flavored Popsicles Just in Time for Warm Weather

The limited-edition 'Coors-icles' redefine what it means to enjoy a 'cold one.'

Coors Light has reinvented the way to enjoy an ice-cold ale with new ice pops flavored like beer. And yes, they're called Coors Light "Coors-icles."

Despite being intended for consumers of legal drinking age (those 21+ years), the Coors-icles are actually non-alcoholic–a pleasant surprise for anyone choosing to drink less or looking to cut out alcohol from their diet entirely.

Said to be inspired by heated March Madness brackets and fans' need "to chill" during the games, the new Coors product officially launched on Tuesday, March 14, but will only be available until the end of basketball season.

Fans looking to get their hands on the limited-edition Coors Light popsicles have two options. The first entails leaving their house and heading to one of the 800 nationwide bars and restaurants that have the Coors-icles in stock.

The second, a little simpler, requires customers to be quick on their feet (and even faster on the keyboard), braving the online competition for the opportunity to snag a six-pack of Coors Light Coors-icles before the official storefront (shop.coorslight.com) sells out for the day. According to the statement, the brand will release a limited number of Coors-icles every weekday at 12 p.m. EST through March 24.

Fans can also enter to win one of 100 six-packs of Coors-icles at CoorsLight.com/Coorsicles, and winners will be chosen on April 4 after the championship game.

“Every point, slam dunk, assist and block puts you on the edge of your seat, but a taste of a Coors Light Coors-icle will bring you back to a moment of chill,” Marcelo Pascoa, vice president of marketing at the Coors family of brands, said in a statement. “We’re making sure that fans watching the games at home or at bars nationwide can cool down with a Coors-icle.”

Whether or not Coors has plans to bring the frozen beer-flavored popsicles back for the summer season has yet to be determined. But should the company decide to add the limited-edition Coors-icles to its seasonal lineup, Parade will be the first to let you know.
