Converse is revamping its Weapon sneaker with a sharp new look, thanks to Korean skate retailer Kasina.

Kasina has given the brand’s signature round-toed sneaker a sleek, minimalist base with paneled white leather uppers, complete with dark blue accents and perforated toes. The $140 lace-up style is finished with smooth white rubber soles, bringing it a contemporary base.

Green tongue paneling adds a tonal pop of color to the high-top set, creating a triple-toned palette. However, one of the Weapon’s most noticeable elements are its thin lines and “1997” lettering, mimicking hand-drawn notes and measurements.

These details, in fact, pay direct homage to the designs first used by Kasina founder Eunhyuk Lee when creating the brand’s first store twenty-six years ago — and make the new shoe a distinctly full-circle hallmark for the label.

The duo’s style’s final detail includes Converse’s signature arrow and star logo, cast in blue on its left shoe and green on the right. The tonal pair is currently live on the Converse website, though some sizes have already sold out upon launch.

Previously, Converse has expanded its slate of collaborative projects with an array of new footwear styles, capsule collections and limited-edition products. These have been co-designed with a wide range of brands, including “Wonka,” Rick Owens, Golf Wang and Ader Error. The shoe brand’s Kasina collaboration is notably its latest version of the Weapon style, as well, which has been previously issued in collaborative releases with Owens and Fragment.
