Construction Continues On Lake Louise's New, High-Speed Six-Person Chair

Lake Louise Ski Resort, Alberta, has announced that construction is continuing on its new, high-speed six-person chair.

The lift, which will transport skiers from the top of the Juniper Lift to Lake Louise's upper mountain, is set to open next winter.

Previous descriptions of the new lift—called the Upper Juniper Chair—said it was a four-seater. However, Lake Louise now states that the lift is a six-seater. In addition to the six-person carrying capacity, the Upper Juniper Chair will boast bubble covers and heated seats once complete.

Current construction efforts for the new lift are "foundational," with "final touches" occurring this summer, according to an update from Lake Louise.

Additional chairlift offerings are coming to Lake Louise in the future.

During the summer of 2025, the resort plans to complete two lifts. The Richardson's Ridge Chairlift will unlock new intermediate and expert terrain, while the Sunny Side Chairlift is intended to improve the beginner experience in Lake Louise's learning area.

The final planned expansion at Lake Louise is a new upper mountain lodge, set to be installed between the Ptarmigan Chair and the Gondola. The lodge has no precise completion date yet, but Lake Louise notes it "may see construction as early as next summer."
