Consignment sale draws thousands looking for bargains

DENVER (KDVR) — Deborah Freeman knows what it’s like to raise children.

She has three daughters herself. She also knows that kids grow up fast, and parents are constantly buying new clothes, toys and other related items.

“Kids are expensive, and in the first two years of life, they go through seven sets of clothes,” Freeman said.

Freeman is the event coordinator for Just Between Friends, one of Colorado‘s largest consignment venues.

“Just Between Friends is a community event where we bring families together to sell the stuff that their kids are no longer using. Then we bring other families in to buy what they need for the next two seasons at 50%-90% off retail,” Freeman said.

Starting Thursday, morning parents — with or without their charges — mosied on down to the Hall of Education at the National Western Complex looking to save a few bucks for their babies.

All items up for grabs are categorized, displayed and tagged for the shoppers’ convenience. And what you see is what you get.

“Every item here is priced by a family member, so prices vary. That’s why you kind of have to get in early,” Freeman said.

Just Between Friends consignment sale runs through Sunday. Admission is free.
