Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the new movie Road House, out now on Prime Video. It's a reimagining of the beloved 1989 action flick starring Patrick Swayze and features McGregor in his first-ever acting role.

Throughout the movie, McGregor and Gyllenhaal's characters end up in various fights. Although they both had stunt doubles, McGregor confirmed that some of their scenes together weren't all acting.

"It wasn't fake fighting,” McGregor said honestly to People magazine. "I don't think so. As a man who fights for a living, it was very, very real. Very much real. There were real shots landed."

"I gave him a wallop, he gave me one back, and then the stuntmen that were stepping in at times took some big shots also," he added.

Gyllenhaal, who plays former UFC fighter-turned-bouncer Dalton in the movie, said as much in a March 18 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

"By mistake, he clocked me in the face," he said of McGregor's overzealous actions in front of the camera. "We would do a take [of] fake fighting, and then we'd go watch the monitors to see it back, to see what worked."

Of course, it was all for the shot, and the two stars weren't letting off any genuine steam with each other. "He was always great with me," Gyllenhaal said. "He would tell me to do things like, 'Oh, you know, turn your hand, move a little bit more this way to try to make it look more real.'"

You can watch the scenes yourself now on Prime Video.
