I’m very into aesthetics. Even before renting my first apartment, I would daydream about decorating every room how I saw fit. I saved tons of interior decor posts on Instagram and created countless Pinterest boards that would hopefully make their way into my place. One thing I’d pinned, admired, and practically stalked on the internet repeatedly was Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful Airfryer — the white icing one. It was the first thing I wanted when I finally moved into my apartment. I even asked for it for Christmas last year and was somewhat disappointed when I opened up new shoes instead. So you can just imagine my delight when I was tasked with an assignment to test and try a handful of Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful kitchen appliances to see if they perform as well as they look. And given the brand name and how stunning they are, they had a lot to live up to.

I was lucky enough to be sent five products — the coveted air fryer, a two-slice toaster, an electric gooseneck kettle, and a slow cooker that just so happens to be on sale right now. I have used at least one of these products daily for the past three months to see if they’re quality appliances beyond their good looks. Below, you’ll find my thoughts on the Beautiful appliances, from everything I loved to what I would change and what I think is worth the investment.

Beautiful 6 Qt Air Fryer

I can see why this is one of the line’s most sought-after hero products. It’s a top-tier air fryer, and I would know as I’ve had at least three different ones before this. The Beautiful 6 quart is your typical basket-style fryer that can cook a meal for a small family of two to three instantly. Out of all of the appliances, this one is my absolute favorite. I use it every single day. It looks chic sitting on my countertop, and it works wonders too.

It has a touchscreen display that lets you set your desired temperature and duration easily. It has four settings — air fry, dehydrate, reheat, and roast — and it saves your last temperature and time setting from the previous use, which comes in handy if you air fry chicken nuggets every day for lunch. I air fry potatoes, roast chicken, and reheat practically everything I make in it. I will admit that I don’t use the dehydrate function; I don’t have a reason to. I’ve noticed that I rarely use my microwave now unless I’m making a can of soup. As a novice cook who tends to get frustrated by recipes and stoves, using this air fryer has made making meals feel more enjoyable rather than a task.

Size: 15.11 in (L) x 12.08 in (W) x 13.07 in (H)

What I love about it:

The basket is spacious: I’ve cooked two large pieces of salmon and cubed potatoes at once.
It cooks everything to perfection: As I said, I’ve owned other air fryers before, some that worked just as well but were incredibly clunky and others that were almost as aesthetically pleasing but didn’t get the job done. My previous air fryer cost more than double the price of this one, was incredibly hard to figure out, and I could never get food super crispy. I was skeptical of the brand’s TurboCrisp Technology because I assumed they were all the same, but I was pleasantly surprised when the chicken tenders that would come out soggy were perfectly crispy with this air fryer.
The basket is super easy to clean: While you should wipe it out after every use, sometimes I’m lazy and will continue to use it but clean it a few days later. The non-stick coating is one of the best I’ve seen out of all the air fryers I’ve used.
It’s absolutely stunning: To be honest, I don’t think the photos do it justice. I’m so in love with how pretty and sleek it is. When I come home, even if my kitchen is a wreck with dishes in the sink, just looking at it makes me happy.

What I don’t love about it:

There aren’t any presets: As a novice in the kitchen, I’m painfully unaware of the temperature at which meat should be cooked. The air fryer has a booklet, but it would be nice if there were automatic presets.
It doesn’t preheat: So, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s nice just to throw food in right from the start. However, I was slightly concerned about timing and whether it would cook at that temperature the whole way through.

The Toaster

Beautiful 2 Slice Toaster

If you ask me, Drew Barrymore’s brand should’ve been called, Down Right Gorgeous, because this two slice toaster is just that. Like the air fryer, it has a touch screen display that has a bagel, frozen, and reheat option. It also lets you adjust how long you’d like to toast your food. What makes this toaster really neat is the slide-out crumb tray that makes for super easy cleaning.
Colors Available: 9
Size: 6.57 in (L) x 11.06 in (W) x 8.11 in (H)

What I love about it:

It’s gorgeous: If I’m being honest, I’d assume most toasters work the same. But why I adore this one is because of the way it looks. Like I said before, I’m into aesthetics and having all of your appliances match, down to the toaster, is genius to me and is exactly what I want for my kitchen.
The slide-out crumb tray: This is something I didn’t know I needed, but so happy to have. I usually would always just dump my toaster out upside down over the sink and pray all the crumbs came out while usually making a mess in the process.
The reheat feature: Do you or your children ever make frozen waffles then forget all about them once they pop up? Yeah, me too. And with the reheat function, it warms them back up without overcooking and leaving you with a burnt mess. I think this has been the most used function for me since getting it.

What I don’t love about it:

The corded plug could be longer: This is more of a personal problem, but where I keep my toaster it would be nice if the cord was as long as my other one.
There isn’t a “Keep Warm” function: Again, another personal problem. My last toaster had this function that I absolutely loved. But the reheat feature on this one still gets the job done.

The Kettle

Beautiful 1-Liter Electric Gooseneck Kettle

$30

After the air fryer, this gooseneck electric kettle is my next favorite appliance. Like everything else from the brand, it looks so beautiful sitting on my bar counter. While I didn’t buy these products, I love how affordable they are, especially the kettle. It looks very similar to the Fellow Stagg one but costs only $30. And if you ask me, it looks even better. Plus, matching it with the rest of your appliances is a good looking touch.

And it works just as good as it looks. It holds about five cups of tea, boils water within four minutes, and pours the most satisfying stream of water with zero spill. If I’m being honest, after three months I’m still shocked at how steady it pours.
Colors Available: 6
Size: 10.86 in (L) x 5.47 in (W) x 9.56 in (H)

What I love about it:

It’s so convenient: I used to be an electric kettle hater. I used to think that they didn’t boil water “as well” as a stovetop kettle (I know, I know, how silly). But this kettle has changed my mind for the better. The water comes out boiling hot within half the time, and since I usually just boil enough for me it takes even less.
It’s so sleek: As I said before, this is my favorite appliance after my air fryer. I love how chic it looks. Unlike other bulky electric kettles, this one is not an eyesore and is so satisfying to use.

What I don’t love about it:

The corded plug could be longer: Again, this is a personal problem but if it was just a smidge longer it would be perfect.

The Slow Cooker

Beautiful 6 Qt Programmable Slow Cooker

$50 $69 28% off

The slow cooker was one of the least used appliances out of the bunch, but when I used it worked so well. Compared to a traditional Crockpot, the Beautiful slow cooker gets the job done just as well but looks better doing it. The slow cooker has a sleek touchscreen surface, cool touch handles, and a large, removable cooking pot that was able to fit a small 12 pound ham that our family ate for Easter dinner.  And unlike the Crockpot, the removable pot is presentable enough for serving at a fancy table.
Colors Available: 8
Size: 11.22 in (L) x 11.92 in (W) x 17.16 in (H)

What I love about it:

It’s very easy to use: Maybe it’s always because I’ve always found Crockpots and InstaPots to be overwhelming with all the buttons, but this slow cooker is so easy to navigate. It’s very user-friendly! Even my 78-year old grandmother (who’s not tech savvy in the slightest) found it to be a breeze and uses it all the time.

What I don’t love about it:

It’s pretty big: Although it’s very nice to look at, it is pretty large in size and something that doesn’t fit on my countertop for everyday use. And with that being said, it also makes storage a bit of a hassle. I live in a small attic-style apartment outside NYC, so space is limited and while I would love to break this out to make soups and stews on a regular occasion, I ended up giving it to my grandmother who had more space to use it. However, if you do have the space, I definitely think it’s worth the investment, especially if you have a large family.
