When you think of love—real love—Steph and Ayesha Curry are, like, the textbook definition of it. The power couple met when they were teens in the 2000s, and they started out as friends until a random LA run-in prompted them to take their relationship to the next level. Since then, Steph and Ayesha have been going strong and building their massive empire as they got married, had kids, received NBA honors, started uber-successful businesses, and gave back to charity. And, yes, the Currys have even served as inspiration behind hit songs (see: "Be Careful" by Cardi B, "0 To 100" by Drake, you know the vibes).

If you're wondering just how far these two go back, let's go back to the beginning of their adorable relationship and manifest the same kind of love for ourselves. 🕯️🕯️🕯️

Circa 2003

Steph and Ayesha met for the first time when they were *literal babies* at 14 and 15.

"We were just kids," Ayesha told People. "He was the cute boy at church that all of the girls were obsessed with, so I made a generalization that maybe he wasn't for me."

"I don't remember the exact first day I saw her," Stephen added, joking, "There was no wind blowing in her face with a backlight."

2008

Fast forward five years, when Ayesha moved to LA to pursue an acting and modeling career. She ran into Steph—who was in town for the ESPYs and took home the award for Breakout Athlete—and reconnected with him. "I didn't know what the ESPYs were," Ayesha told People. She also dished that she had a "no athletes" policy when it came to dating. "My parents found this paper from my high school theater class where you had to write down what you wanted in a significant other," she said. "At the bottom, it said, 'No athletes because they're arrogant.'"

The couple also went on their first date later that year. During a 2019 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ayesha opened up about their experience. "I picked him up in my '98 Astro van," she said. "He had on 3XL shorts, so that's a sign of the times. It was our first official date."

The date in question? Madame Tussauds wax musuem. "Listen, we were 18 and 19, so if that, like, clarifies anything. And we got chai tea lattes," Ayesha explained.

2010

In July 2010, Steph proposed to Ayesha in the sweetest way. "The plan was to act like we were going to a family cookout," Steph told Parents in 2016. "So we pulled up to the house and I stopped in the middle of the driveway, got down on my knee and went into my spiel. Little did I know the whole family was looking out the window."

Per BET, Ayesha dished about the core memory to the Charlotte Observer. "He asked me if I knew where we were standing. It was the spot where we had our first kiss," she said. "He pulled me close and started saying all these sweet things and then dropped down on one knee. I was in a state of shock."

2011

Nearly a year after their engagement, the couple officially tied the knot and became Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Curry with a stunning wedding in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"Each day with you is the ultimate blessing. Getting to do life with you is an infinite sea of bliss. Through our ups and downs, we only become stronger, and that is the ultimate key."

Stephen also shared a boomerang of the couple clinking glasses in celebration. "Growing strong through all the ups and downs. Life is all about perspective, and my perspective is clear! That @ayeshacurry … that's my baby right there... " he captioned the post.

2022 was a big year for the couple as they launched their own Max game show About Last Night, the Golden Gate Warriors won the NBA Finals, and Steph graduated college with a degree in Sociology. Sooo, there was a lot to celebrate between the power couple.

"Proud is truly an understatement. The ultimate man of his word right here! I’ve never seen someone set goals and attack them head on the way he does. He is simply unmatched because he is one of a kind. I love you @stephencurry30 YOU DID IT!" Ayesha wrote on Instagram.

The couple also appeared on the cover of Town & Country in support of their nonprofit organization, the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation. "Our mission to help end childhood hunger, ensuring students have access to a quality education and providing safe places for all children to be active is only just beginning," they wrote in a joint Instagram post.

Steph also showed love for his wife with his own Insta shoutout, writing, "My Woman. I Love you more than you know. I’m thankful for every experience we have shared together. The highs, the lows, the ways life has brought us closer together through it all. God continues to bless us. You have brought me so much joy and happiness from day 1."

2024

In March, Ayesha revealed she and Stephen were expecting their fourth baby (!!!) while posing for the cover of her magazine, Sweet July, in a gorgeous image that showcased her cradling her baby bump.

In an essay for the outlet, Ayesha also shared that this would be the couple's last baby: "For so many years, Stephen and I thought we were done. We said, 'Three, that’s it, we’re not doing this again.' And then, last year, we looked at each other and agreed we wanted to do this again. For me, the decision came from always finding myself looking around and feeling like somebody was missing. I would load up the car and think, 'Oh, I forgot something.' But nobody was forgotten. It started to turn my brain a little bit."

Oh, and later that month, the celeb also made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live and recalled the first meal she ever made for Steph after the basketballer's father "randomly" gave her a Southern seasoning that inspired her: "I made some chicken with that and some rice and asparagus."
