It’s no secret that silk pillowcases have been trending for a while now, largely due to their ability to prevent frizz and keep your curls intact. With so many different options to choose from, however, you find yourself using your plain ol’ cotton pillowcase out of habit. That’s why we’re here to help.

On this brand-new episode of Take My Money, PureWow creator Kate Kesselman tests out not one, but two viral pillowcases: the Kitsch Satin Pillowcase ($19; $14) and the Clementine Sleepwear Silk Pillowcase ($93). The end goal? To see how they compare, and most importantly, how they maintain her curls throughout the night.

To kick off the episode, Kate takes the Kitsch Satin Pillowcase out for a spin. Though the viral product is made with 97 percent Polyester Satin and three percent Spanx, she tells viewers, “It’s supposed to have the same elements of silk, [such as] reduce frizz, breakage and help retain moisture for your skin. But it’s a lot cheaper than a 100 percent silk pillowcase.”

Upon first impression, Kate already has high hopes for the Kitsch pillowcase. “It’s very much like a regular pillowcase [and] it’s very soft,” she says in the clip. “I’m excited to see if this keeps my hair intact.”

Next up: the Clementine Sleepwear Silk Pillowcase. Because this pillowcase is made with 100 percent Organic Mulberry Silk, it is more on the pricey side. And just from the packaging alone, Kate can’t help but gush over the product. “It is gorgeous,” she says in awe. “It feels almost like a jewelry box. It’s very elegant.”

So, did the Kitsch Satin Pillowcase pass the frizz test? Or did the Clementine Sleepwear Silk Pillowcase exceed expectations? Click the video above to hear Kate’s unfiltered review and see which pillowcase is worth the purchase.
