O.M.G. We don’t even have the words to describe our reaction after listening to this clip. They’re really going to mix elephant DNA with existing mammoth DNA and use CRISPR technology to make an embryo. Our minds just about exploded when we heard this!

Now, before we get ahead of ourselves, it’s important to point out what @ppslappreturns said. The comment reads, “It’s not actually a mammoth. It will be a new species with a lot of mammoth traits and we’ll see how the birthing goes.” According to a CNN article, advocates for bringing back the mammoth could help restore the Arctic tundra, combat the climate crisis and help preserve endangered animals.

“That mammoth update is going to be wild,” commented @deadger6. You can say that again! We can’t wait to follow this story further.
