Commute PA giving away gift cards for recording bike trips

Apr. 30—In honor of National Bike Month, Commute PA is encouraging riders to record their bike trips to earn rewards and a chance at winning a $100 gift card.

"Cycling isn't just exercise for your body, it's a mood booster too," the York-based nonprofit said in a press release. "On top of the personal benefits, biking is a win for the environment."

Bikers can receive rewards by enrolling in Commute PA, a free app that awards points for recording trips by bike and other methods of environmentally friendly commuting.

The app can be synched with wearable devices like Fitbit, Garmin or Strava so bikers can record trips effortlessly, Commute PA said in a press release.

Throughout May, Commute PA is also offering a chance to win one of three $100 Tango gift cards.

To be eligible to win, bikers must:

—Like one of Commute PA's social media pages.

—Like, comment, share or repost at least one of the social media posts released by Commute PA every Wednesday in May.

—Record at least five bike trips in Commute PA in May.

The randomly selected winners will be announced at the beginning of June on Commute PA's social media pages.

Commute PA can be downloaded from app stores. More information is available on the Commute PA website.

Commute PA, formerly known as Commuter Services of PA, receives funding through the Federal Highway Administration via PennDOT and the region's metropolitan planning organizations.
