Community Spotlight: C-U Vegan Chef Challenge

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — For Tuesday’s Community Spotlight, Matthew White sat down with Vegan Outreach volunteer Jann Humphrey to talk about a cooking challenge happening in Champaign-Urbana restaurants.

20 restaurants from across the area are participating in the Vegan Chef Challenge this year. Competing restaurants are currently serving special plant-based dishes, and patrons can vote on their favorites. The challenge runs to the end of the month.

When taking those obligatory Instagram food photos or encouraging your Facebook friends to go out and try a dish, Humphrey encourages taste-testers to use #VeganChefChallenge in social media posts.

Votes should be cast by April 30 at veganchefchallenge.org/Champaign/.
