Previously named the School Orchards Project, the Community Orchards Project oversaw the development of five orchards at Chappell Elementary, Red Smith K-8 School, Edison Middle School, Southwest High School, and Lombardi Middle School over a year with funding from the city of Green Bay.

Apple trees, pear trees, cherry trees, plum trees, and helpful pollinator plants are among the food-bearing plants found in the orchards. For New Leaf Foods to keep constructing a local, wholesome, and sustainable food future, the Community Orchards initiative is open to growing and planting in any public area in northeast Wisconsin.
