The Alamogordo Daily News appreciates your input to the Community Calendar. To make sure items can receive proper attention, all information should be received by the newspaper at least five business days prior to the event. Events can be emailed to communitynews@alamogordonews.com. . All the information must be available: contact number, location including address and not just a place name.

FAN Club: Food and Networking, held every second Friday of the month. Each FAN Club is sponsored by a different business. FAN Club begins at 8 a.m. at Rocket City Family Fun Center – join us for free breakfast and a presentation by the sponsor. This meeting is open to the community.

New Day Alcoholics anonymous: The Tularosa Home Group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Monday at 6 p.m. for a book study and every Friday at 6 p.m. for an open discussion meeting located at the Tularosa Community Center, 1050 N. Bookout Road in Tularosa. These are closed meetings (alcoholics only) and CDC guidelines regarding masks will be followed. Contact Linda at 575-654-3494 for more information.

Graffiti cleanup: If you or someone you know has graffiti on their building, fence, outbuilding, or any other type of fixture, Keep Alamogordo Beautiful can eradicate the graffiti free of charge. Stop by the Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center, 800 First Street, City Hall at 1376 E. 9th Street, or Code Enforcement at 2010 Oregon Avenue and fill out a simple form. The form is also available on the City’s website at http://ci.alamogordo.nm.us/formcenter/keep-alamogordo-beautiful-19/graffiti-removal-78.

Tulie Group: The Tulie Group is focused on nonpartisan discussions and activities leading to solutions that will produce real benefits to our fellow citizens and the greater community. We welcome members of all parties and beliefs who are interested in learning our true unbiased history; participating in exciting and productive discussions; and being part of a solution that benefits our community and enriches all of our lives. Also, don't let the name "The Tulie Group" fool you, we welcome all of Otero County to participate; we are just located in Tularosa. Regular meetings held on the last Monday evening of each month. Al-Anon family and friends: Alamo Al-Anon Meeting for family and friends affected by someone's else's drinking or drug use. We are meeting by Zoom and email on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm. Interested parties may email Dave at dspring2000@hotmail.com. Or text or call Wanda at 575-921-9302.

Yoga at the rec center: Alamogordo Parks and Recreation announced yoga classes will resume at the Alamogordo Family Recreation Center. Early-morning flow is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the AFRC gym. There is a $6 fee per class and participants should bring their own matt and other accessories. Pre-registration is available one-week in advance to each class and drop-ins at the AFRC are also permitted as long as classes are not full.

CrimeStoppers new number: CrimeStoppers of Otero County can now be reached at 575-295-9990.

Physical education session: Alamogordo Parks and Recreation announced the return of Toning with Ben fitness class at the Alamogordo Family Recreation Center. Pre-registration is open one week in advance to each class. Drop ins are permitted. The class will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at AFRC gym. There is a $5 fee per class.

AL-ANON: The New Day AL-ANON group meets on every Thursday at noon at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 1212 Washington Ave., Alamogordo. Call the church office at 575-437-2970 for more information.

Search & Rescue: The group is looking for men and women who want want to help by being hikers and climbers. Attendees learn GPS, compass, maps, navigation, survival skills and search techniques. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Alamogordo Public Library, 920 N. Oregon Ave. For more information, call Darrel Heller at 575-404- 1775.

Ages birth to 5y, you’re invited!! Cloudcroft child find and kindergarten registration will be held at the Cloudcroft MIddle school gym, on 4/25/24 from 2-4pm. Business Impact/Government Relations Meeting: This meeting happens the second Tuesday of every month, 8 a.m. at the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce. Agencies and organizations from across the county come together to give updates on their businesses. This meeting is open to the community.

Changing Lanes Bowling Night: Chamber members and their employees or family members can bowl for free (including shoes), every second Monday of the month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. pm at Rocket City Family Fun Center.
