Comme Si Opens First Pop-up in New York City

Accessories label Comme Si is embarking on its first retail venture this month.

The luxury socks and loungewear brand is opening a seasonal pop-up store in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood at 142 Plymouth Street on Nov. 10 to highlight key pieces from its assortment and offer its first in-person touchpoint to its customers in New York City, which is the brand’s top market, according to brand founder Jenni Lee.

“It’s a natural next step for our brand,” she said about the pop-up. “Bringing the brand to life in a physical space is just a wonderful way for people to experience what the brand is about. We’re very intentional with how our brand is presented to the world, whether it’s photography, products or the materials and colors that we choose, and I think it’s a more 360-way for people to experience the brand.”

The pop-up will offer colorful styles across the brand’s popular socks, as well as its loungewear offerings, which include boxer shorts and trousers. Customers will also be able to have their loungewear monogrammed in the pop-up.

Comme Si partnered with Elias Studio to design the pop-up. The store’s decor takes inspiration from a multitude of sources, including ‘70s Milanese interiors and traditional Korean Hanok architecture. The pop-up is expected to stay open through January.

While Lee remained mum on future retail plans, Comme Si is planning pop-ups and other permanent retail stores in other key cities both in the U.S. and globally. The founder also stated the brand will be embarking on major collaborations next year.

Comme Si experienced rapid success during the pandemic just a year after launch, thanks to the brand’s socks created with fine materials like Egyptian cotton, Mongolian cashmere and merino wool. Lee entered loungewear during the pandemic with her boxer shorts, which also proved to be popular among customers. At the time, the brand experienced 300 percent year-over-year growth due to the response to the loungewear and the growing customer base around the brand’s socks.
