Coming soon: Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad back on track

PENINSULA, Ohio (WJW) — In March, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) announced it was suspending rides to the public to update equipment and perfect procedures to make rides safer and more streamlined.

Now, the CVSR is gearing up to get back on track.

According to recent posts on the CVSR Facebook page, public rides and excursions will resume on May 3.

In a video post, CEO and President Joe Mazur and Director of Railroad Operations James Lawson describe the technology advancements made during the hiatus.

“When everybody speaks about vintage, the technology is not vintage, only our cars,” said Lawson. “We are putting ourselves as a Class 1 in technology.”
