Comedian Rickey Smiley's Son Dead at 32

The comedian announced that his son died on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Rickey Smiley's son, Brandon Smiley, has passed away. 

The comedian, 54, revealed that his eldest son died at the age of 32.

Smiley took to his Instagram yesterday to announce the news through an Instagram reel with a caption that read, "I lost my oldest son #BrandonSmiley this morning. I’m okay, but please pray for my son’s mother Brenda, his siblings, and his daughter Storm."

"I just have bad news this morning. My son, Brandon Smiley, has passed away this morning," he said in the video while he was getting ready to head to the airport to go to Birmingham where Brandon grew up to be with the rest of his family

"Pray for my son's mother and my son's siblings, pray for my son and my daughter, everybody that was raised with Brandon," he said, adding that, "life comes with a whole bunch of twists and turns." 

He went on to say that he couldn't think because he was emotional but would give fans an update soon.

Many celebrity friends took to the comments to share their condolences including, Tamar Braxton who wrote, "I'm so sorry friend."

alum and Smiley's former Dish Nation co-host, Porsha Williams, chimed in, writing, "I'm so sorry Rickey!!!! We love you and we are praying for you!! May God comfort your whole family at this time as well as loved ones!!"

RHOA star Kandi Burruss also paid her respects, writing, "Oh no! I'm so sorry for your loss. I love you & I'm praying for you."

Smiley's current Dish Nation co-host Headkrack also shared words of comfort, writing, "I'm so sorry man. I love your kids like they my nephews. I know how you move so you don't ask for much but I'm here if you need me fam. My sincerest condolences brother."

Brandon is survived by his mom, dad, three siblings, and his three-year-old daughter, Storm

A cause of death has yet to be revealed.
