The force is strong with this one. In some ultimate, unabashed nerd news, Columbia and Star Wars recently teamed up for a four-piece collection inspired by the most notorious bounty hunter in the Star Wars galaxy, Boba Fett. Unsurprisingly, the majority of the collection—including a pricey $450 men's technical jacket—sold out in mere hours after launch. Call it further proof of the ever-strong Star Wars fandom.

Launched on Dec. 3 for online purchase, the collection featured "design cues from Boba Fett’s armor alongside Columbia’s award-winning proprietary technologies," according to a release. One notable "Easter egg" detail, for example, was ventilation panels in the Boba Fett-inspired jacket that mimic exhaust ports from Boba Fett’s jetpack.

"This collection is built for fans around the world to enjoy the outdoors in authentic Star Wars style while keeping them warm and protected against all the unpredictable elements the galaxy can throw their way," a Columbia press release said of the limited-edition release.

The collection included a $450 technical jacket dubbed the Interchange Jacket, a $120 fleece hoodie made to battle the elements, a $50 cotton tee featuring an early Boba Fett character sketch, and a $40 dad hat. The collaboration launched at midnight on Dec. 3, with the majority of pieces instantly selling out. As of press time, the only pieces still available in the collection are the women's Interchange Jacket and a Boba Fett graphic tee.

Columbia and Star Wars have teamed up for a franchise-inspired collection every December since 2016, and have released seven Star Wars-inspired collections in the past. This collection, however, is the first dedicated to fan-favorite character Boba Fett—and the gamble on the cult-favorite character clearly paid off.
