Colton Haynes Adopts a Cat, Names Him After Timothée Chalamet

Colton Haynes would like the world to know that he’s “finally a cat daddy!”

The Teen Wolf and Arrow star recently took to social media to announce that he adopted a cat from Los Angeles’s Kitten Rescue — and he named him after a very special celeb. “Meet my whittle baby Timothee ChalaMeow,” Colton wrote on Instagram, an obvious nod to Little Women star and all-around icon Timothée Chalamet.

In a YouTube video, Colton further explained the decision-making process behind adopting a feline friend, sharing that he’s wanted to take the plunge for a while, but his work had previously made him too busy to become a pet owner.

“But as of now, there is nothing in the schedule,” he said in the video, referring to the fact that he’s staying home and practicing social distancing like many others amid the coronavirus pandemic. “And I really think that this is the right time for me to do this.”

When picking out a kitty, Colton wanted to find one that was affectionate, and would be comfortable sitting on his shoulder most of the time. “I think I found the one,” he said happily.

On IG, Colton added that he’s “grateful” to Kitten Rescue for bringing Timothee ChalaMeow into his life — although he suspects that the cat is “already annoyed with me because I won’t leave him alone.” We understand why; this cat is a real cutie!

No response yet from the real, human Timothée, but we have a feeling he’d be honored to know that Colton’s cat was named after him. Maybe they can even all get together for a selfie once social distancing is over — we’re sure Timothee ChalaMeow would want to meet his namesake, after all.
