Coachella isn't only a music festival where you can experiment with new neon hair colors, slip on glitzy body suits, and watch Lady Gaga perform. Turns out, you can also create your very own highlighter there, too. Over the weekend, a ColourPop custom highlighter bar was set up for Weekend 1. Festival goers could stop by between sets to mix up a bespoke glow for their makeup bags. The Southern California-based cosmetics company is known for quickly churning out trendy makeup. However, it one-upped itself with this bar.
ColourPop had glass jars filled with loose illuminating powder in shimmery shades like pearl, champagne, mint green and rosy pink. You could pick how much you wanted of each hue. Then, they were stamped into the tie-dye highlighter of your dreams in seconds. If you're familiar with ColourPop's highlighter, then you know that its marbleized highlighters are major. When Churro, a champagne mix of the best-selling highlighter shades called Avalon, Wisp, and Stole the Show, debut last summer, it flew off digital shelves in 60 seconds. The thought of having our own, one-of-a-kind version of it is giving us serious Coachella FOMO. We definitely would have made one with the mint green, lilac, and pink.
Alas, we lived vicariously through ColourPop's Instagram Story.
The custom highlighter bar even included limited-edition millennial pink versions of ColourPop's classic white plastic packaging for the occasion. We're hoping the pretty-in-pink pots are a sneak peek at an upcoming collection that will involve them. Right now, we want all the pink in our lives. Oh yeah, and custom highlighter, too. Maybe, just maybe, the ColourPop custom highlighter bar will makeup a pop-up appearance in a city near you some time soon. Or maybe they'll make some kind of online version? Of course, if you're lucky enough, you might be able to catch the bar at Coachella's second weekend, too.
