Colorado's Snowiest Ski Resort Transformed Into "Winter Wonderland" Following 3 Foot Storm

Last week, the powder faucets turned on Colorado, depositing feet of snow across the Centennial State.

Of the many powder recipients, Wolf Creek Ski Area made out like bandits, tallying an impressive 38 inches by the storm's end.

"Wolf Creek Ski Area is a winter wonderland after a 38-inch storm! Conditions are powder and packed powder," wrote on X yesterday. "Take some turns this week!"

Conditions at Wolf Creek are looking mostly clear in the coming days, with temperatures reaching above freezing. The resort has 100% of its terrain open, meaning slush-run options abound.

The resort's website currently lists its closing date as "TBD," but this recent storm will presumably lead to a longer ski season.

On average, Wolf Creek receives 430 inches of snow each winter, making it the snowiest resort in Colorado. This season, the resort has seen 288 inches—breaking the average snowfall mark is probably a longshot.

Yet, meteorologist Chris Tomer says there could be more snow on the way. In his latest forecast, he predicted that a storm is heading to Colorado from March 23rd onwards. As always, it ain't over til' it's over.

Wolf Creek Ski Area Resort Stats:

Vertical: 1,604 ft.

Skiable Terrain: 1,600 ac.

Average Snowfall: 430 in.

Lifts: 10

Snowmaking: YES
