Colorado's Nude Skiing Festival Finds A New Home
Colorado has once again proved itself to be ColoRADo as its iconic Boot Tan Fest returns for the 2024 season. While some places frown upon naked spread eagles (ahem, Palisades back when G.N.A.R. was filmed...) but others welcome it with open arms.
This year's Boot Tan festival will be held in Sunlight Mountain Resort in Glenwood Springs, and promises to be a rockin' good time!
Boot Tan Fest posted a Western-themed, festival-esque photo with the caption, "Save the Date! March 29th - 30th we're taking over @sunlightmountainresort in picturesque Glenwood Springs, Colorado for Boot Tan Fest 2024!"
Boot Tan Fest is exclusively for women and femmes, (warming my heart as a proud women's college alum!) and includes live music, comedy shows, skinning, camping, and, of course, naked laps with the ladies.
The naked lap is an iconic installment of the festival where everyone takes a full backcountry lap in the buff. Yes, completely naked!
Reminds me of my college's graduation ritual. Everyone had a nice meal with fancy wine, and then got bare naked and ran around campus to celebrate!
Skiing naked takes that to a whole new level.
The lifts will be turning all night long, just for Boot Tan Fest.
The post also included a heartwarming note to their prior host, Bluebird Backcountry. "We’d like to tip our hats to our good friends over at @bluebirdbackcountry They've been our trusty home for Boot Tan Fest these past three years, and we couldn't have asked for a better partner."
"They saw our vision, helped us lasso up the best darn day of the year for all you snow-loving women and femmes out there, and we're mighty grateful for that."
"It saddens our hearts to see their doors close, but we'll carry that gratitude with us, like a prized gold nugget in our hearts, for creating a safe, welcoming, and downright inclusive haven for us trailblazers."
Can't wait to see what's in store this time around at Sunlight Mountain Resort (or should I say... moonlight)!
