Colorado Springs dog park made top 10 list of hidden gems in the U.S.

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A new survey has unveiled the top 120 ‘Hidden Gem Dog Parks in the U.S.’ and two Colorado Springs dog parks landed on the list, one of which was in the top 10.

According to Technobark.com, with the help of “3,000 dog-loving survey respondents from coast to coast,” the list was made. According to the survey, Colorado’s top, hidden gem dog park, is Bear Creek Dog Park in Colorado Springs, and landed at number six on the list!

“The sprawling Bear Creek Dog Park in Colorado Springs offers an off-leash expanse that’s a wonderland for dogs with an adventurous streak and those of the more genteel persuasion,” according to the press release.

Two other Colorado dog parks landed on the list; Estes Valley Dog Park in Estes Park, which came in at number 46, and Fox Run Dog Park, located at 2110 Stella Drive in Colorado Springs, which came in at number 50.

According to El Paso County’s website, Bear Creek Dog Park sees about 100,000 visitors every year, is the County’s most visited park, and was established in 1997. It is located on the North side of Bear Creek Regional Park and more information can be found at the link above.

Key findings from the survey when it came to ranking higher on the list were based on five factors including; diverse landscapes, community and maintenance, accessibility to unique features, geographical spread, and exploration and adventure.
