These Colorado ski areas are some of the most-loved in North America

DENVER (KDVR) —Even with the mid-April snow across the high country, ski areas are closing and the winter season is wrapping up. Along with the end of the ski season comes yearly polls for the best winter getaways.

OnTheSnow released its Visitors’ Choice Awards for the 2023-24 season from ski mountains across North America. Unsurprisingly, many Colorado spots made the list.

Website visitors and app users rated and reviewed resorts for characteristics like terrain, après-ski, family friendliness, terrain parks and more.

Here are the results of the best ski areas, per OnTheSnow’s poll:

Out of the seven categories, five Colorado ski areas won.

The areas range from Telluride’s free gondola transportation system to Breckenridge’s 18-foot halfpipe. Meanwhile, people also loved the groomed trails in Wolf Creek and the nightlife in Aspen.

Even though the ski season is winding down, there are still places that will remain open through the end of April and even until June if the snow holds.

This weekend is one of the last ski weekends for many areas, if you haven’t hit the slopes this season, there’s still time to see what all the hype is about.
