Colorado Ski Area's Mascot Celebrates Nuggets' Finals Win

The NBA season just wrapped up, with Coloradan basketball fans celebrating after their team, the Denver Nuggets, won against the Miami Heat during finals.

But your average Coloradan isn't the only person stoked about the Nuggets' historic first victory in franchise history; so is Mayor Parker The Snow Dog. Who? I'll let the furball himself do the barking.

Mayor Parker is Loveland Ski Area, Colorado's mascot, and the honorary mayor of Georgetown, Colorado, a small community that's a 17-minute drive away from Loveland.

Basically, the four-legged mayor's known for repping all things Loveland, Georgetown, and Colorado, to the tune of 50,000 followers on Instagram. So he's understandably wagging his tail about the Nuggets' recent finals victory.

Here's Mayor Parker looking properly kitted out with his very own Loveland Ski Area pass:

Loveland Ski Area isn't just known as Mayor Parker's haunt. It's a mellower, lower-traffic resort known for being more laid-back than nearby heavy hitters like Keystone or Breckenridge. Plus, it's only a one-hour drive from downtown Denver on I-70, making it less susceptible to the ever-dreaded front-range skier's traffic jam.

Loveland locals hoping to prevent crowds from descending on their favorite hill, have I said too much? How's this: Loveland's also known for slower lifts, frigid winds, and less beginner terrain than other, larger resorts.

Loveland Ski Area Stats/Info:

Vertical: 2,210 ft.

Skiable Terrain: 1,800 ac.

Average Snowfall: 422 in.

Lifts: 11

Trails: 94

Snowmaking: YES

Night Skiing: NO

Mega-Pass: Powder Alliance
