Colorado Resort Issues First 'Snow Alert' Of The Season

If it was a drill earlier, it certainly isn't anymore: Vail Mountain, Colorado, issued its first "snow alert" of the season yesterday, October 13th.

What is a "snow alert," you ask? Basically, it boils down to the Coloradan resort announcing that a metric boatload of snow has arrived. In this case, it was to the tune of 13 to 15 inches over the past week.

Here's an additional peek at Vail's early-season snowfall via images shared with Powder by the Coloradan resort.

That is the good stuff right there. You just love to see it.

Vail Mountain's current planned opening date is November 10th, so we're likely less than a month out from Vail fans catching those first, tentative turns at the resort. I know 30 or so days sounds like a long time, but they'll cruise by before you know it.

In the meantime, you know the drill. Find some way to distract yourself from the fact that it's finally starting to happen: winter's on the way.
