The national experts say Deion Sanders has had an immediate and impressive impact on the Colorado football roster.

More than 40 new Buffs have been signed after the late signing period opened Wednesday.

That group includes 25 transfers and 17 high school signees.

CU has two five-star recruits in the class (one transfer and one via high school). That total matches the number of five-star recruits Colorado has landed in the last 25 years combined.

Here's a by-the-numbers look at the Buffs class and where they're ranked nationally.

One of the best transfer classes

Sanders has said transfers will be a core part of the roster and he backed that up.

CU's transfer class is ranked No. 5 in the country, per 247Sports. On3 Sports is even more bullish, ranking the Buffs No. 2 in the country in transfer additions.

High school recruits

While the transfers carried the heaviest weight in the class, CU's high school class is better than previous years.

The high school class is ranked No. 30 in the nation by 247Sports. On3 Sports ranks it as No. 33.

Overall rankings

247Sports has Colorado high in overall recruit rankings, which combine high school signings and transfers.

The Buffs are ranked No. 21 in the country in overall class ranking by 247Sports and third in the Pac-12 behind USC and Oregon.

Other recruiting numbers

A few other notes from CU's class:

  • Two five-stars in one class is a first for the Buffs

  • Seven four-star recruits in the class ties a program high

  • CU signed two players from England

  • 42 total signings. Seventeen are high school recruits, 14 are undergraduate transfers, nine are grad transfers and two are JuCo transfers.
