Color-Changing Marshmallows Will Change Your S'mores Game

If you're tired of all the normal campfire treats going into this summer, Jet-Puffed has the perfect new product for you.

The Kraft Heinz company just released its new Color Changing Marshmallows, an innovative new confection that shifts colors like a chameleon when exposed to fire or heat.

"This is the first time the brand has used the secret color changing ingredient in combination with their jet-puffing technology designed to make the fluffiest and puffiest treats to step up your roasting game," Jet-Puffed said in a press release for Color Changing Marshmallows.

The statement went on, "The never-before-seen color changing marshmallows are igniting families’ campfire fun by bringing pops of color to delicious, ooey gooey s’mores.”

The marshmallows will come in two varieties, with pink to orange and blue to green. In order to see the colorful transformation, you have to expose the marshmallow to heat for approximately 10 seconds.

Jet-Puffed's Color Changing Marshmallows went on sale on April 25 for $2.99 per bag in grocery stores nationwide. Stock up if you're interested, though—they'll only be on sale until the end of September.

While they last, the tasty new marshmallows are sure to level up your s'mores game this summer and are a perfect reason to have a nice campfire with friends and family.

While these are the first color-changing marshmallows, the color-changing food and drink trend isn't exactly new.

A few years ago, Starbucks even got in on the fun, premiering the limited-edition Butterfly Pea Lemonade Cold Brew in store locations in Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

The drink had three layers–butterfly pea flower tea, lemonade, and cold brew–and the tea and lemonade reacted with one another to create blue swirls.

Who knows what color-changing treat we'll see on the market next!
