Collectors Can Build an Xbox 360 Repilca With Mega’s Building Set

Mega has rolled out the perfect project for collectors who also want to test out their skills in building a console by hand. The company’s latest set is an Xbox 360 replica that challenges its owner to a 3:4 scale build consisting of 1,342 pieces.

Mega’s kits are designed to be fun to build and functional units. The kit will guide builders through the step-by-step process of assembling both the console itself and an accompanying controller. One can even opt to leave certain exterior panels out for a mechanical aesthetic that offers a look at its inner workings.

Included among the pieces are functioning lights, a hard drive and a game disc and case. As a bonus, the replica comes with a copy of Halo 3. Once the build is completed, they can start gaming right away.

"Inspired by the most influential gaming console of its time, this collector building set celebrates the legacy of the Xbox 360,” Mega said. “Jump back in with a fully buildable, light-up console and controller. The console opens to reveal a disc drive (and other Easter eggs); place the Halo 3-themed disc inside to activate the motherboard. Adult builders take note: completing this set unlocks the ultimate achievement."

Priced at $150 USD Mega Showcase Xbox 360 Collector Building Set is available exclusively via Target, though pre-orders are sadly sold out. Additional orders may open soon after the set officially launches on October 8.
